It seems that this could have been a bogus email, it is kind of "phishy". The other possibility is that Booking.com might have gotten hacked and their data was compromised, contacts were lifted. Hard to say because the email originated from their internal email domain server - i.e., "booking.com" - and when I replied to it, it didn't bounce back. I'll keep this updated just to help out the community.
