My Ethernet does show up as Public but the method to change it to Private you showed in the previous reply isn't working. I followed all the way up "Network Status" and once I click on "Change Connection Properties" It just brings me to the Unidentified network under the ethernet connection with no option to change the network from public to private.
Sometimes, when you click on the network icon, instead of the option to switch between network profiles (above screenshot) you may just see the Metered connection screen.
