I have an Airport Extreme as my primary router and I have connected it with an Ethernet cable to a WRT1900acs (into the Internet WAN port) so I can extend my wifi range and also connect Apple TV via Ethernet. I currently have the WRT set to Bridge Mode but I'm not sure I'm getting any wifi signal fr Is the Extreme being used as a router or do you want it to be a media wireless bridge from the Orbi to a wired device connected to the back of the Extreme.
